The  Hatchling's  Hoard

Gemma and Agatha's parents were a pair of archeologists. While her mother had the earth element that the girls inherited, their father actually had the air element. For the most part he still chose to be earth bound like his family, but eventually he decided it was time to see where the wind could take him. As Gemma and Agatha were fairly self reliant at this point anyway, their mother thought it'd be perfectly acceptable to go with him.

 

While their parents were off discovering themselves, Gemma was busy taking care of Agatha. She had already begun collecting stones of all different types, but hadn't quite decided what she wanted to do with her life yet. All she knew was that it would have to include Agatha.

 

When Gemma decided to open up her shop, she worried about Agatha adjusting. To her surprise, Agatha was a fantastic Shop Keep. She enjoyed the elements of retail that Gemma was not such a fan of. While Gemma is by no means a push over, it's safe to say that she lets this particular employee get away with a lot. 

 

With Agatha content to watch the store, Gemma was able to spend more time doing what she really wanted to do. Spending her days underground is not uncommon. Besides, it's not like she needs a tan.

 

Typically Gemma will set out in the early morning to do her spelunking. She likes to spend the afternoon with her sister, so she tries to make sure she gets out of the cave by mid-day.  Unfortunately dragons are not fans of watchs, so she's often out later than she intended.

 

She maintains that she's raising Agatha just fine, and gets defensive when others question her or act rudely to the younger dragon. While she's usually pretty agreeable she does tend to go into 'mama bear' mode when someone implies there might be anything wrong with agatha or their set up.

 

Over all Gemma and Agatha are pretty close and the older grey dragon doesn't have to do much to discipline her younger sister.
